Neighborly actions for the weekend and next week!
Don't be too tense! Donate two (or more) tents (and other basic items)! Also: explore QAW and help a neighbor get home!
Sunday, 5/13, 12-3pm, 400 Harris Ave Unit F, Providence: Binch Press (community print shop) and Queer.Archive.Work (community library) are holding open hours this weekend in their shared studio. This is a great opportunity to look at some beautiful zines and posters and learn more about what happens there (including their residency program). There is a ramp into the space (bathroom is big enough for a wheelchair but there is no rail) and young kids can come, but there are big machines, so be prepared to hold hands.
5/19, 5/20 and 5/21, anywhere in the Providence area: If you’re ready to let go of (or can purchase for donation) any of the items on this list, the Rhode Island Medical Navigator Partnership will pick them up and distribute them to neighbors who are or have recently been unhoused. Check your shelves and basements, and fill out this form. (Also SAVE THE DATE for a Homes for All Rally at the RI State House on May 30th, 3pm in the Bell Room.) Email Reed Junkin (joseph_junkin@brown.edu) with questions.
ASAP: Donate on Venmo to OSA-funds to help a stranded neighbor get home from the Dominican Republic.
Our warmest regards,
Estefany, Mia and Kate
